Job Summary
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor?s degree in Industrial Engineering, Food Science, Engineering, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of MRP and ERP systems.
- Experience with HACCP, food safety, and compliance regulations.
- Expertise in PLC and logic controls for high-speed manufacturing equipment.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills, with a root-cause analysis mindset.
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, including pull systems, Kanban, process mapping, and standardized work.
- Demonstrated ability to drive operational improvements through automation and data-driven decision-making.
- 8-10+ years of experience in plant manufacturing and maintenance
- 5+ years of director-level experience leading technical services, including plant maintenance, automation, and utilities functions.
Oversee all aspects of manufacturing engineering, automation, utilities, wastewater management, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations), and spare parts inventory management at the facility. This leader will drive efficiency, minimize downtime, and control repair costs while ensuring operations meet food safety and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have a strong leadership presence, deep technical expertise, and a proven track record of enhancing manufacturing performance through automation, maintenance strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Summary:
Technical Leadership & Operations
- Provide leadership for technical services teams, including direct and indirect employees.
- Establish and implement a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program in collaboration with production leadership.
- Optimize inventory management by overseeing MRO budgets and spending.
- Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing through data-driven analysis, automation, and engineering resources.
- Lead the technical services function, ensuring adherence to Lean Manufacturing and TPM principles.
- Set and maintain preventive maintenance schedules, quality standards, and performance metrics for manufacturing operations.
- Manage long-term capital projects, including wastewater recovery and recycling initiatives.
- Partner with senior operations leadership to execute critical initiatives for site transformation.
Strategic Collaboration & Compliance
- Support plant key performance initiatives, working closely with R&D, Quality, Engineering, Procurement, and Product Supply teams.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards to create a safe working environment.
- Represent the facility in engagements with state/local officials and industry leaders.
Team Development & Leadership
- Optimize the organizational structure to align with business goals.
- Provide senior-level leadership to train and develop engineers, technicians, and other team members.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and customer service excellence.
