Skills Needed:
Redshift, query optimization, SQL-to-Redshift rewrites, Glue, AWS, and Python.
- Core
need: Deep Amazon Redshift expertise with proven SQL-to-Redshift
refactoring and performance optimization.
- Migration:
Ongoing effort to move legacy workloads to AWS/cloud.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Review
existing SQL/Power BI queries and rewrite for Amazon Redshift's PostgreSQL-based
dialect.
- Optimize
query performance at terabyte scale; diagnose and resolve bottlenecks.
- Validate
outputs end-to-end and enforce data quality standards.
- Support
business reporting use cases and partner with a self-service report
developer.
- Contribute to data engineering tasks using AWS Glue,
Lambda, and related AWS services.
Key technologies
- Amazon
Redshift; SQL Server and Oracle exposure helpful.
- Advanced
SQL and query optimization; SQL rewrite for Redshift.
- AWS
Glue, Python/PySpark; AWS Lambda; broader AWS data stack.
- Power BI context for report-driven queries.
