Position Overview
The Kitchen Training Manager oversees the development and delivery of training programs for all kitchen operations within Freshly Go brand (ultra-fresh, ready-to-eat fruits, veggies, and wholesome snacks. Chef-prepped, beautifully presented for the modern, on-the-go shopper). This role ensures food safety, efficiency, and quality standards are consistently achieved across all franchise locations. The Kitchen Training Manager serves as the bridge between culinary standards and operational execution.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop and implement kitchen-specific training covering food prep, sanitation, safety, and equipment use.
- Facilitate hands-on training for new franchisees, managers, and staff on how to prepare and present high-quality fruits/vegetables. This includes cutting fruits and vegetables and ensuring all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and prepared according to food safety standards.
- Collaborate with R&D and Operations to incorporate new menu items, recipes, and equipment into training.
- Provide field coaching and retraining where performance gaps are identified.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and Freshly Go brand standards.
- Create training manuals, guides, and video resources to maintain consistency across the network.
- Ensure all brand training and content is in full compliance with company standard.
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Culinary or foodservice management background required.
- Demonstrated training and facilitation expertise.
- Must have knife skills/experience with cutting fruits and vegetables.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to moderate large groups.
- Knowledge of regulatory food safety standards (ServSafe preferred).
- Experience delivering formal training sessions in a classroom or kitchen setting preferred.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to lead, build, and develop successful franchisees.
- Ability to manage multiple training schedules and priorities.
- Strong communication and coaching skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management, scheduling, managerial, and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a variety of personalities.
- Confident facilitator with hands-on training style.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods standing and preparing food.
- Must be able to work in a kitchen/operation environment that may involve exposure to extreme heat or cold.
- Must be able to lift up to 25-50 pounds at times.
- Manual dexterity required for chopping, slicing, and other food prep tasks.
