Job Summary
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Central Operations, the Central Operations Specialist is responsible to manage operations related training programs through designing, creating, updating, translating, amending &/or compiling training materials, tracking and keeping training records, coordinating training schedule and delivering Training the Trainer sessions if necessary. Project coordination to ensure smooth and on time progress. The position also needs to work with other internal and external parties on various projects as assigned by superior(s).
You Will Training Coordination - Communicate within the Training team to ensure alignment on new training processes and proper use of training materials.
- Collect, maintain, and regularly update Store Talent lists for the Operations team.
- Coordinate with subject matter experts to develop training courses for Department Trainees and Store Manager Trainees.
- Arrange and support both virtual and classroom-based training sessions for stores.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for training-related inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Provide translation support (English/Chinese) for T&T colleagues as needed during training assignments.
- Support store training initiatives by preparing periodic reports to monitor training progress and completion.
- Ensure exams, evaluations, sign-off forms, training checklists, and related documentation are designed, updated, translated, compiled, and maintained in a timely manner.
Operations Training Program Development & Enhancement - Collaborate with Specialists and relevant Store Support Center stakeholders to ensure store operations training curricula, materials, and documentation align with company standards nationwide.
- Partner with Specialists to design, review, and enhance certification training programs for various trainer levels (e.g., Peer Trainers, Hub Store Trainers).
- Work closely with Operations Specialists to develop and update training materials for store-level trainees and general staff.
- Assist in the design and rollout of new training programs and training processes.
- Identify training needs and recommend appropriate training solutions.
- Support communication and change management efforts to ensure smooth launches of new programs or processes across stores.
- Assist in developing evaluation mechanisms to measure training effectiveness.
- Support training evaluations by designing surveys and conducting assessments online or through store visits.
E-learning (Ultipro / LMS Support) - Act as a liaison between HR and Operations Training to ensure smooth administration of Operations Training courses on the e-learning platform (Ultipro).
- Provide support to store teams, training department colleagues, and instructors for virtual training sessions conducted via Microsoft Teams.
- Develop documented scripts, subtitles, and narrations in both English and Chinese based on key concepts and work procedures provided by subject matter experts.
You Should Have / Be - Solid understanding of supermarket store operations.
- Strong ability to articulate ideas and manage creative projects from concept to completion, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and demonstrate initiative in learning new training technologies.
- Excellent written, verbal, and translation skills in both English and Chinese.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Office 365.
- Experience organizing training activities; retail industry experience preferred; familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is an asset.
- High level of integrity in handling multimedia files and respect for digital representations of individuals.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and with external partners.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required.
