Job Summary
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor?s Degree in Food Science, Quality, or a Related Technical Discipline
- 3+ Years of Quality Experience: Proven experience in quality assurance within a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Quality Systems: Expertise in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Safe Quality Food (SQF) systems.
Summary:
As a key player in the Quality Assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all Food Safety and Food Quality policies and procedures are strictly adhered to, including but not limited to the SQF Code, HACCP, and any specific customer quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to all Food Safety and Quality policies, including compliance with SQF Code, HACCP, and customer quality requirements.

Procedural Development: Work alongside the Quality Assurance Manager to determine, recommend, and enforce necessary departmental procedures.

Auditing and Record Maintenance: Conduct audits and maintain essential records for quality control, ensuring they meet all regulatory and internal standards.

Material Approval and Compliance: Assist with the approval, release, or rejection of all raw materials, finished goods, and in-process materials, ensuring they meet quality standards.

Non-Conformance Management: Manage departmental non-conformances, implementing corrective actions, documenting them, and ensuring timely closure of outstanding issues.

Laboratory Management: Maintain laboratory equipment in optimal working condition, including scheduling preventative maintenance and calibrations. Stock and order lab and sanitation supplies as needed.

Leadership: Provide leadership to Quality Assurance employees, ensuring consistent quality of work and adherence to established procedures.

KPI Development: Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in developing and maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs) for sanitation and quality.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety (OHSA) and environmental regulatory standards, investigating non-compliance and identifying root causes.

Safety and Environmental Accountability: Foster a safe working environment by developing strategies focused on accident reduction, as well as minimizing energy consumption and waste.
