Job Summary
Director Milk Sourcing, Remote US Based Client is a 50+ year-old privately-owned Food Products company with multiple US locations. The Environment is fast-paced and the company is poised for high growth in the marketplace.
- Provide milk sourcing expertise to gain trust and credibility quickly as the SME while efficiently managing a growing milk and dairy spend of $80M
- Lead the monthly Milk Counsel meetings with prepared data, financial analysis and market intel for informed decision making and suggestions on actionable items
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure continuous cost effective milk supply for the processing plant
- Partner with R&D for ideas on innovations, new formulations, new products and categories to meet or exceed growth targets
- Effectively own supplier contract negotiations for current and future optimal milk supply
- Author, develop and partner to implement the Milk Sourcing Strategy to support current and longer-term growth initiatives
- Huge opportunity to operate as the SME for risk management, hedging, trading options. Present business cases for price protection and targeted margins for optimal business results
- Strong financial and business acumen with demonstrated record of results managing a Milk P&L, Federal Milk Marketing Orders, Pricing and margin
- Proven track record and ability to partner from the Boardroom level to the Farmer/Producer kitchen table

Qualifications
- BS degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain, Finance, Dairy Science or related field is preferred along with 7-10 years progressive experience in dairy raw milk sourcing
- Strong knowledge with FMMO, milk transportation and logistics is a big plus
- Travel expected as needed
- Must be detail oriented and passionate about data analytics as an effective tool for informed decision making
- Must have impactful communication skills, influencing others, ambition and be action oriented (not a purely dairy expert advisor but an executive leader with expertise in dairy procurement)
