Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated General Ledger & Cost Accountant with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join a growing finance team within a manufacturing and/or distribution environment. This role is responsible for general ledger accounting, financial reporting, month-end and year-end close support, and cost and inventory-related accounting activities.

The ideal candidate has hands-on ERP experience, strong accounting fundamentals, advanced-intermediate Excel skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with operations and supply chain teams. Experience in the produce or food industry and bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

MUST HAVE MANUFACTURING OR DISTRIBUTION INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE FOR CONSIDERATION + KEY TRAITS:
1. Cost Accounting

2. Multiple account bank reconcilation

3. Correctly post to the G/L to support a Sr. Accountant and Controller creating the monthly financial statements

4. Intermediate Excel using

  • Pivot tables and pivot charts

  • XLOOKUP / VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely posting of transactions

Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations

  • Prepare and support financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

  • Support cost accounting activities such as inventory valuation, cost center accounting, allocations, variance analysis, and P&L reporting

  • Analyze financial and operational data using advanced-intermediate Excel tools to support reporting, budgeting, and decision-making

  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, procedures, and applicable regulations

  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries

  • Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and production teams to improve financial accuracy and processes

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis

  • Perform ad hoc accounting and analytical projects as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor?s degree in Accounting

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliations

  • Cost accounting experience involving inventory, production, or operational costing preferred

  • ERP system experience required within a manufacturing or distribution environment (Famous ERP experience a plus)

  • Advanced-intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:

  • Pivot tables and pivot charts

  • XLOOKUP / VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH

  • SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, nested formulas

  • Data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and internal controls

  • Experience in the produce industry a plus

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and written/verbal communication

Pay: $87,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
